
Washington Spirit Sign 2022 Draftee Tinaya Alexander

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Spirit have signed forward Tinaya Alexander, the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft, to a one-year deal with an option for another year. Alexander spent five years at Louisiana State University.
The fifth-year senior from Reading, England earned First-Team All-SEC honors in 2021 and was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Year after tallying nine goals and six assists in 20 games played. Alexander assisted on 22 goals in her career with Tigers, tying her for second-most in school history.
"We are thrilled to add Tinaya to the Spirit Fam," Head Coach Kris Ward said. "She was a great pickup for us in the draft and we think she will be a real asset for us moving forward."
