Washington, PA - The Slammers got the best of the Wild Things Thursday night with a final score victory of 5-0. Joliet's Sean Townsley (3-2) picked up the win for the Slammers, surrendering eight hits and striking out five in five innings pitched. Washington's Chase Cunningham (2-3) is charged with the loss.

The Slammers took the early lead in the top of the 1st, a walk and hit batter set up a Carter Bell RBI single to give the Slammers a go ahead 1-0 lead.

The Wild Things answered with singles from Jamal Austin, Ricky Rodriguez, and David Popkins but strong defense from the Slammers prevented any runners from scoring. Austin and Rodriguez found themselves in scoring position once again with a pair of singles in the bottom of the third but were once again prevented from scoring.
