
Washington, Copeland Are Back

Montreal, September 24, 2002 - Two Alouettes' players who were trying out in the NFL this year, defensive back Mark Washington and receiver Jeremaine Copeland, are back in the Canadian Football League after they were released by their respective teams.
Washington (5'9'', 185 lbs.) played five seasons with the Alouettes before attending the Washington Redskins' training camp this year. In 60 CFL games, he made 212 tackles including seven for losses, eight interceptions for gains of 178 yards and a touchdown. He is 29.
As for Copeland (6'2'', 195 lbs.), he played seven games with the Alouettes in 2001. He caught 13 passes for gains of 182 yards and a touchdown. The 25-year-old attended the Dallas Cowboys' training camp.
As for James Whitley, he is still with the St.Louis Rams.
