Richmond Roosters News Release

Richmond, Indiana - Richmond dropped its third straight game in a 7-4 loss to Washington on Saturday night. The Roosters struggled to get things going and fell behind by seven runs before scoring four straight.

The Wild Things scored in the second on a two-run homer by David Reaver. Another run came in the fourth on a RBI single by Andy Hudak that scored Randy McGarvey to make it 3-0. Washington added four more in the fifth after taking advantage of a couple of hits and a pair of Richmond errors. McGarvey hit a sacrifice fly to center in the inning to help push the lead out to 7-0.

The Roosters finally got on the board in the sixth, netting three runs on five hits in the inning. Gerald Miller hit a RBI triple to left-center and Kevin White crushed a two-run homer over the scoreboard in left to get Richmond to within four runs at 7-3. Justus Kimbrough scored in the ninth on a pair of wild pitches after singling to center, but that would be the last run of the game as the Wild Things won 7-4. Brian Burks (10-2) pitched seven innings for the win and did not allow a hit or base runner until the fifth inning. Tony Casoli (7-3) suffered the loss after pitching five innings.
