Lynchburg, VA â The Winston-Salem Warthogs (17-13) split a double header at Lynchburg on Wednesday night. The Warthogs won game one, 8-2 thanks in part to an 11 hit attack. Seven of the 11 hits went for extra bases. Mike Morse and Eric Welsh both hit homeruns. Welsh finished game one with four RBIs. Byeong An improved to 4-2. An gave up two runs on four hits in six innings of work.
Both teams combined for only four hits in Lynchburg's game two win, 2-1. Kris McWhirter dropped to 0-2 for the Warthogs. McWhirter gave up just two runs on one hits in four innings.
The Warthogs will play one game in Salem on Thursday at 7:05pm. RHP Franklin Francisco (2-1) will toss for Winston-Salem. All the play by play will be heard on 600/1200am WSJS.
