Bismarck, N.D. (March 24, 2012) - The Dakota Wizards announced today the assignment of rookie forward Chris Wright from the Golden State Warriors, the Wizards' NBA affiliate. The assignment marks the 57th time an NBA player has been assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season and is the second for Wright this season.
Wright returns to the Wizards following a three-game assignment in January, when he averaged 20.6 points, 10 rebounds and 31.3 minutes before being recalled on February 6.
Wright, who was signed as a free agent on December 12, 2011, has appeared in 17 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds in 4.7 minutes. He was the third overall pick of the Maine Red Claws in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft and averaged 17.0 points and 10.8 rebounds in four games with the Red Claws.
Wizard fans will get to see Wright in action as he will join the team today and be in uniform on Sunday afternoon when the team plays host to the Erie BayHawks.
The current roster stands at nine players.
