
Warriors Fall to Reno

RENO, Nev. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Reno Bighorns 115-97 Monday night.
Seven Warriors scored in double figures. Santa Cruz was led by Mychel Thompson and Dominic McGuire, who each scored 14 points. Cameron Jones scored 12 points, while Lance Goulbourne, in his first game back with the Warriors this season, also scored 12. Seth Curry and William Buford each chipped in with 11 points, and Kiwi Gardner scored 10 off the bench. Ognjen Kuzmic, currently on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, pulled down a game-high 12 boards.
Reno's Sundiata Gaines led all scorers with 21 points. K.C. Rivers scored 19 off the bench, while Bryan Davis added 16 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
The Bighorns scored first and maintained the lead for the entire contest. Santa Cruz scored 16 points in the first quarter and 19 in the second, entering the intermission trailing Reno by 17. The Bighorns added to their lead with a 37-point third quarter behind 12 points from Gaines. Santa Cruz fought until the end, scoring 36 points in the fourth quarter, but it didn't prove enough, as Reno held its double-digit lead throughout the final frame.
Reno outshot the Warriors (51.9%-40.7%) and had more rebounds (45-32), assists (24-20) and points in the paint (46-40). Santa Cruz had more steals (11-3) and committed fewer turnovers (16-19).
