
D-Fenders Clobber 87ers with Franchise Record 157 Points

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders defeated the Delaware 87ers 157-134 on Monday night at Toyota Sports Center.
In the first quarter, the D-Fenders (21-15) and the 87ers (11-29) got out to quick starts offensively, with Los Angeles taking a slight edge due in large part to five three-point field goals. Holding a small lead entering the second frame, the D-Fenders' offensive onslaught took center stage, as Los Angeles hit another six three-point field goals en route to a single quarter season-high tying 47 points in the period. Overall, the D-Fenders shot 56.1 percent from the field and 52.4 percent from the three-point line in the half, giving them a 13-point advantage.
Manny Harris kept the offense flowing in the third quarter by knocking down six of his 11 shot attempts for 15 points to go along with four assists. Leading Delaware by 19 points entering the final twelve minutes, Los Angeles continued their offensive attack and saw their lead grow as large as 26 points in the final frame. In conclusion, the D-Fenders finished with a new franchise-record 157 points and claimed their 21st victory of the season.
Leading the D-Fenders record-breaking effort were Manny Harris (38 points), Terrence Williams (25 points, 10 assists) and Travis Hyman (19 points, nine rebounds). Also finishing in double-digits for Los Angeles were C.J. Williams (22 points), Shawne Williams (14 points, six blocks), James Southerland (11 points) and Josiah Turner (10 points, 12 assists).
Tiny Gallon finished with 35 points and 18 rebounds to head the Delaware attack. Vander Blue (28 points, nine assists), Bo Spencer (22 points), Josh Akognon (16 points) and Michael Lee (13 points) also finished in double-digits for the Sevens.
In total, the D-Fenders 157-point effort is the most points scored by a single team in a regulation game in NBA D-League history. In addition, Los Angeles' 61 made field goals and 47 assists are new NBA D-League all-time records for a single game. Furthermore, the D-Fenders racked up 80 points in the paint, which accounted for 51 percent of the team's total points.
These same two teams will square off once again on Wednesday, March 5th, at 7:00pm, at Toyota Sports Center, in El Segundo, California.
