TJ Ward had two extra base hits as the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (7-7) took home a 6-5 victory over the Torrington Titans (5-9) at Doyle Field on Friday.
He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
Scott Webster improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits.
Nick Williams ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs were sparked by Ward and Angelo Navetta, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.
