Walter Spencer Medical Update

Montreal, Sept. 7, 2010 -Following the events that led to the hospitalization of Alouettes linebacker Walter Spencer, the following is a first medical update on his health as given by his attending physician, trauma surgeon Dr. Dan Deckelbaum:

Spencer sustained stab wounds to his chest and underwent emergency surgery early Monday morning. He currently remains in the intensive care unit in the MUHC Trauma Center at the Montreal General Hospital. His condition has improved significantly and heis now considered stable.He is expected to remain in hospital for a few more days. He is communicating with his health care team and family members, who are at his side. He thanks the community for its concern and well wishes.

The Alouettes' thoughts and prayers go out to Walter, his family, and his friends.
