Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that defenseman David Walker has agreed to terms for the 2005-2006 season. He becomes the third defenseman and fourth overall returning player from last year's roster.
Last season, his rookie year, Walker played in 65 games, registering 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists) with 188 penalty minutes and a +18. Though officially listed as a defenseman, he played on offense several times during the season. He played in 6 playoff games, scoring 1 goal with 12 penalty minutes and a -1.
"He had an outstanding rookie season for us", said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron. "We were blessed to have his versatility as well as his toughness, and we'll be expecting bigger and better things from him in his second year."
"I'm really looking forward to coming back", said Walker. "I want to be part of a winning team and I'm confident we can take it to the next level with the team Malcolm is recruiting."
