Tulsa Drillers News Release
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - In their return to action on following the Texas League All-Star break, the Tulsa Drillers opened up a four-game set against the Arkansas Travelers on Thursday night. Knotted up at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Dom Thompson-Williams struck again against the Drillers, delivering a go-ahead homer in a 3-2 defeat to the Travs.
The Drillers and Travs entered the All-Star break as the hottest teams in the Texas League, both starting the second half of the season 5-1. The loss moves the Drillers to a game behind Arkansas in the Texas League North with Thursday's game the opener in the final series of the regular season between the two clubs.
After allowing a pair of runs in a rocky first inning, Drillers starter Justin De Fratus settled in and allowed only two base runners over the next four innings. But Thompson-Williams came up big to lead off the bottom of the sixth. The lefty clubbed the go-ahead homer, and the Drillers were unable to make a come-back.
A pair of Travs All-Stars gave Arkansas a quick lead in the first. Donnie Walton led off with a double, and Evan White followed with a double, plating Walton. Later in the inning, Thompson-Williams singled to deliver his first RBI of the game, giving Arkansas a 2-0 lead.
The Drillers evened things up an inning later. Keibert Ruiz got things started with a double, his seventh of the season. Jared Walker then smashed a clutch, two-run homer to right to tie things up at 2-2.
Tulsa went hitless in its final six innings.
WHAT YOU MISSED
*Walker's sixth inning home run was his first since homering in back-to-back games May 22-23. It was the infielder's seventh homer of the year.

*The three hits on the night matched a season-low for Tulsa.
*Prior to the game, the Dodgers announced that Gavin Lux, Dustin May and DJ Peters all received a promotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City. J.D. Martin and Logan Landon rejoin the Drillers from OKC, and Brandon Montgomery joined Tulsa from Rancho Cucamonga.
