Waco Wranglers News Release

Waco, TX. Waco native Mario Kinsey is the first player to sign with the ABA Waco Wranglers. The Wranglers held a press conference at Reicher High School to announce the signing of Kinsey. The 6'2" point guard played for Le Vega High School leading their team to victory at the 2000 State Championship.

Kinsey also played football and basketball for the University of Kansas as well as basketball for Sam Houston State and Texas College. "We are looking for Mario to control the game tempo, initiate our offensive sets and play monster defense," Coach Toni said. "We believe he will be one of the leading point guards in the ABA and Waco will have the opportunity to see him live."

Wrangler's coach Toni was also featured on Waco's 1660 am ESPN radio Wednesday morning. She discussed the team's future with Paul Catalina. The Waco Wrangers will be signing a new player each week. "I'm excited Waco will be able to see basketball here at a professional level," Kinsey added. "I'm ready for the season to start."

The Waco Wranglers joined the ABA this season and the 2006-2007 season will be their first to compete. The ABA is the fastest-growing sports league in history. The Waco Wranglers will provide cost-efficient, fan-friendly and fast-paced professional basketball for the community of Waco. The Wranglers are a part of the WHITE DIVISION (Central).
