Great Falls, MT - The Pioneer League of Professional Baseball has named Great Falls Voyagers RHP Spencer Moran the Pitcher of the Week for games played June 18th-24th.
Moran's lone start for the week Sunday at Missoula in game one of a doubleheader resulted in a career-best 11 strikeouts with no walks. The 22-year-old Mesa, Arizona native allowed just four hits and one unearned run over six innings. Moran's previous career-high in strikeouts was six. Through two starts this season, Moran is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA. In 8.2 innings pitched, he has 14 strikeouts and only one walk.
Moran was signed by the White Sox as a free agent in the off-season. He spent four years in the Tampa Bay Rays organization and pitched the 2017 season for the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Midwest League. Moran was originally drafted by Tampa in the 11th round of the 2014 draft out of Mountain View High School in the Phoenix, AZ area. He was born in Des Moines, IA.
