VOYAGERS HANG ON LATE

Leading 3-0 and on the verge of their second shutout of the season, things got interesting for Great Falls in the ninth Tuesday night. Ogden starting the inning with two pinch hitters and after a lead-off walk, Ivan Vela hit a two-run homer to get the Raptors within one. Ogden got the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position but Jon Bengard buckled down to get the final out and earn his league-leading fourth save.

CHRIS DOES IT AGAIN

For the third time in five starts and for the second consecutive outing, Voyager lefty Chris Freudenberg delivered a quality start. The southpaw gave Great Falls six scoreless frames last night, allowing just four hits while striking out five to pick up his second straight win. The outing lowered Freudenberg's league-leading ERA to 1.35, and boosted is inning total to 26 and two-thirds through five starts, the second-highest total in the Pioneer league.

OFFENSIVE STRUGGLES

After scoring 24 runs and collecting 30 hits in their two-game sweep at Missoula over the weekend, the Voyager bats went quiet for most of last night's contest. Great Falls managed just five hits in last night's contest, dropping their overall team batting average to .255, the lowest in the Pioneer League. The Voyagers have also scored the least runs in the league at 102, an average of 4.6 runs per game.

PETER KEEPS ON ROLLING

Infielder Jake Peter kept his hot streak going last night, collecting his third straight multi-hit game and extending his overall hitting streak to nine, the longest by a Voyager this year. During this streak, the former Creighton Bluejay is hitting .474 (18-38), with six multi-hit efforts during this span. With his two-for-four effort last night, Peter boosted his overall season average to .435 and on-base percentage to .507, both of which lead the league.
