VooDoo to face Wranglers in crucial late season matchup

When the New Orleans VooDoo face off against the Austin Wranglers on Saturday, May 14 in the New Orleans Arena at 7 p.m. in the teams final regular season home game of the 2005 season, fans can expect an exciting, interactive experience leading up to the game and through its conclusion.
The 8-6 VooDoo, who are tied for third place with the Tampa Bay Storm in the Southern Division, will be facing the 6-9 Wranglers. This will be a matchup with important playoff implications for the VooDoo. In addition to the VooDoo, the 9-6 Orlando Predators, 9-5 New York Dragons, 8-6 Storm and 7-6-1 Dallas Desperados are fighting for two playoff spots. If the VooDoo win the Saturdays contest against Austin and their season finale at the Predators on Sunday, May 22, they will be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. The divisional round will occur on Sunday, May 29, at the site of one of the divisional winners.
The Saturday night tilt will be broadcast regionally on Cox Sports Television, starting with a pregame show at 6:30 p.m. Todd Kalas will handle play by play, New Orleans Saints assistant offensive line coach Jim Pyne will serve as guest color analyst and Tim Fanguy will be the sideline reporter. The game can be heard on WSMB-1350 AM, starting with a pregame show at 6:30 p.m. Chris Kenyon will handle play by play, New Orleans Saints Guard Dwayne Ledford will serve as the guest color analyst and Kenny Wilkerson will be the sideline reporter.
VooDoo fans will also be able to receive a giveaway item as a reward for their support throughout the season for the teams Fan Appreciation Night. The first 10,000 fans that come through the door will receive a 2005 New Orleans VooDoo Dolls Poster, sponsored by the Venue. The first 5,000 fans that enter the arena will also receive a pair of Thunder Bones, compliments of News on Wheels.
Plenty of tickets remain for the game with several pricing and seating options available. Another big crowd is expected at The Graveyard. As of 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, the advance ticket sale for the game stands at 14, 500. Prices for available tickets are as low as $6. Through seven home games, the VooDoo have recorded an average attendance figure of 15,219 fans per game, ranking third in the AFL. Four home games have all been sold out this season. For Saturdays game, a special is offered to fans where for $68 dollars, they can receiver four upper level corner seats and four New Orleans VooDoo baseball caps. This special only applies at the Saints Box Offices in Metairie and at the Louisiana Superdome. In order to accommodate fans, the New Orleans Saints tickets offices at 5800 Airline Drive and at the Louisiana Superdome will be open on Friday until 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. 1 p.m.
