Colorado Crush News Release
DENVER â The Colorado Crush (9-5) host the Nashville Kats (6-7-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. at Pepsi Center with an opportunity to clinch their second straight playoff appearance and their first Central Division title with a win and some help. If the playoffs started today, the Crush would own the top seed in the American Conference.
With a win over the Kats, coupled with a loss by Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and the Crush would secure no worse than a wildcard berth. Should the Crush defeat Nashville and Chicago lose to Grand Rapids, then the Crush would earn the division title and guarantee at least an opening round home game.
A Crush win combined with losses by Los Angeles, San Jose and Chicago, and the Crush would assure themselves of the top seed in the American Conference and would own home-field advantage for both an AFL divisional game (May 29) and American Conference championship (June 5) leading up to ArenaBowl XIX in Las Vegas on June 12. Should the Crush win out, they would also be assured of the top seed irregardless to how any other teams finish.
The Crush have never hosted a playoff game, having advanced to the AFL semifinals in 2004 where they fell in Arizona after a quarterfinal victory on the road at New Orleans. The Crush are 12-3 in two seasons at Pepsi Center under head coach Mike Dailey
