Volts nip Cats 3-2 in thriller

It was a game worth the watching. Despite a one goal loss, the Atlantic Division leading Moncton Wildcats took on the top offensive team in the Q, the Drummondvillle Voltigeurs and held their own for 56 minutes.

The Wildcats took the lead at 10:12 of the opening period on Zach Sill's eighth goal of the season.

In the middle period, the Cats increased the lead by two on Bezak's goal 7:57. Drummondville cut the lead in half at 10:51 with a power play goal by Mike Hoffman.

In the final period, Dmitry Kulikov evened the score at 4:12. The winning goal came from Yanick Riendeau at 16:05. It was Riendeau's 100th point of the season.

Shots on goal were 43-26 in favor of Drummondville, with Nicola Riopel turning in another outstanding effort in the Wildcats goal, including stopping a penalty shot by Hoffman in the first period.

The Voltigeurs went one for three on the power play; the Wildcats were one for seven.

Game stars, Kulikov of Drummondville got the third, Riendeau was second and Zack Sill was picked number one.
