
Vipers Reacquire Stanley Asumnu

McAllen, Texas, December 19, 2007 - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers today announced the re-acquisition of guard/forward Stanley Asumnu. Asumnu was in training camp with the Vipers and was the Vipers final cut before the season started.
The Houston, Texas native played college basketball at Tennessee with Vipers Guard CJ Watson when he averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds per game. After his eligibility was completed in basketball, Asumnu played for the Volunteers football team as a wide receiver.
Asumnu will join the Vipers as they leave tomorrow for an eight game road trip before returning to the Dodge Arena on January 13th where they will host the Albuquerque Thunderbirds. To make room on the roster, the Vipers released forward Jarred Merrill who has left the team.
