TUESDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Tuesday's games
Colorado's Kaniel Dickens recorded a game-high 35 points, while teammate Eddie Gill, in his first game back in a 14ers uniform following his GATORADE Call-Up to the New Jersey Nets, poured in a 19-point, 12-assist, 11-rebound triple-double performance.
Marcus Williams led Austin in the losing effort with 26 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Fellow Toro DerMarr Johnson finished with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
STRAWBERRY AND NICHOLS ASSIGNED TO D-LEAGUE: Phoenix's D.J. Strawberry and Chicago's Demetris Nichols were assigned to their respective D-League affiliates the Albuquerque Thunderbirds and Iowa Energy yesterday. Strawberry a 6-5, 201-pound rookie guard, who will join Albuquerque when they travel to Colorado to take on the 14ers on Dec. 23, was selected in the second round (59th overall) of the 2007 NBA Draft and is averaging 2.0 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.5 assists during six games with the Suns. Nichols, a 6-8, 2-16-pound rookie forward was acquired by the Bulls on Dec. 7 from the Cleveland Cavaliers and is averaging 0.7 points and 0.3 rebounds in 4.7 minutes of regular season action. He will join the Energy on Dec. 20, when Iowa hosts the L.A. D-Fenders.
