EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (14-9) take down South Bay Lakers (10-14) at Bert Ogden Arena, 127-85. Vipers earned a 48-point lead, biggest in a game.

The Vipers started off hot going on an 8-0 run to begin the quarter. Without looking back, RGV went on to claim the halftime lead, 55-34.

Offensively for the Vipers Bruno Caboclo led the way with 12 points. The Lakers were aided by Joel Berry ll who came off the bench. Berry ll tallied nine points and a lone assist. Defensively the Vipers held the Lakers to their lowest scoring half this season with 34 points.

Johnathan Williams and Marcus Allen racked up six points apiece as well for South Bay on the half. Dakarai Tucker had nine points of his own while Houston Rockets assignee, Isaiah Hartenstein, kept pace with nine points as well.

The second half continued to go in favor of the Vipers as they crept away with the lead. The home domination by the Vipers allowed six players to creep into the double-digit mark in points scored.

Roger Moute a Bidias made his debut tonight for the Vipers where he totaled 16 points and three assists in 19 minutes of action. Michael Frazier racked up 20 points, eight boards and three assists. Gary Payton II earned a double-double tonight with 17 points and 11 rebounds, in addition to six assists and six steals.

Scott Machado totaled 18 points and four assists for the Lakers. Two-way player, Johnathan Williams finished with 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists.

The Vipers return to action at home with a back to back on Friday, January 11 versus Westchester Knicks. On Saturday, January 12, the Vipers will take on Santa Cruz Warriors Tipoff will be at 7 p.m. for both games.
