Edmonton wasted little time responding with a triple off the bat of Carlos Arroyo, an RBI single from Chris Van Rossum, and a RBI double by Joe Jiannetti to take a 2-1 lead.

Calgary tied the game up in the top of the second inning when with two outs Kevin Price walked, Colin Moro reached base on a error, Darryl Brinkley received a free pass, and Mejia also was walked for a run batted in.

Back and forth the game continued in the bottom half of the inning as Dave Detienne doubled and Jordan Lundberg smacked his first homerun of the season for the 4-2 advantage.

A run was added by the Cracker-Cats in the bottom of the fourth inning with a Jonathan Castro single and he then scored all the way from first base after Arroyo chopped one back to the mound and Jordy Alexander committed the throwing error launching the ball down the right field line.

The Vipers grabbed a run back in the in the top of the fifth with a leadoff walk to Nelson Castro then following a Miller single Castro moved to third base on a fly out from Max Soto and scored on a Patrick Arlis RBI sacrifice fly to cut the lead down to 5-3.

The Cracker-Cats regained their three run lead in the bottom of the seventh with a leadoff single by Arroyo who stole second base, moved to third on a Van Rossum groundout and scored on a Sean Kramer wild pitch.
