Villarroel's Big Night Boosts Avocados

The Avocado infielder Miguel Villarroel made his debut this week and had himself a night in just his second outing. He came up big at bat going 2- 3 and accounted for 4 out of the 6 RBI's in the game. Those came from a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the single and a 2 RBI single in the bottom of the third. Maximo Acosta had the other 2 RBI's in the bottom of the second with a double himself. The pitchers for the Avocados allowed only three runs in the ballgame while striking out 8. They go onto win it six to three.

Th e Avocado's (44-40) and Columbia Fireflies (30-55) continue their series tomorrow, on Saturday, July 16th, with the Avocados leading the series (3-1), as the first pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. in Kinston, NC at Grainger Stadium.
