Victoria Seals News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals are returning home to kick off a five-game homestand against the Tijuana Cimarrones, and will be featuring a great selection of events and giveaways in celebration of the Canada Day long weekend!
Putting their four-game win streak on the line on Wednesday night, the Seals will play host to the Cimarrones for the first time ever on BC Hydro Fireworks Night! With the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (PT), game one of the series is also Subway Winning Wednesday at Royal Athletic Park - if the Seals win, everyone in attendance will receive a free six-inch sandwich!
Thursday's game will play host to the second annual Canada Day matinee, a 1:35 p.m. (PT) start time between Victoria and Tijuana. Come out to support the Seals in game two of the series wearing your red and white before heading downtown for Canada Day celebrations presented by the City of Victoria!
The third game of the set against the Cimarrones is slated for Friday night at 7:05 p.m. (PT). The game also represents the fourth installment of Flight Centre's Fly Away Fridays, when one lucky fan could win a trip to Vancouver and be entered for the season-ending grand prize of a tropical getaway for two!
As the series shifts towards the holiday weekend, the Seals and Coca-Cola are proud to support some international action, handing out FIFA World Cup thundersticks to the first 500 kids in the door on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. (PT). Other prizes up for grabs during game four include a FIFA World Cup replica ball!
With the five-game set against Tijuana coming to a close on Sunday afternoon, Thrifty Foods Family Day will again play host to a 1:35 p.m. (PT) afternoon game at Royal Athletic Park. As always, fans are invited down to the field for a post-game autograph session and a chance to run the bases with Seamore the Seal!
Sunday will also play host to the Victoria Seals Season Ticket Holders' BBQ after game five against the Cimarrones. All season ticket holders and host families are invited down to the Podium Bull Pen post-game to enjoy a BBQ dinner while mingling the Seals players and staff.
