Vic Zapien Named California League Clubhouse Manager of the Year

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Stockton Ports are pleased to announce that Vic Zapien has been named the California League's 2015 Clubhouse Manager of the Year.

Zapien is currently in his 11th season with Stockton and 10th at clubhouse manager, having originally joined the organization as a bat boy. Zapien was promoted to clubhouse manager following his inaugural season.

"It's an honor to receive this award and be to recognized by the California League," said Zapien. "Being able to work for my hometown team is a privilege, and I am grateful to work with such an incredible organization."

The Stockton native has been selected to represent the Ports as the California League All-Star Team's clubhouse manager in 2007, 2011, and 2013 and has previously been named California League Clubhouse Manager of the Year in 2010, the first year the award was presented in the California League.

"Vic receiving this award for the second time is well-deserved," said Ports President Pat Filippone. "We get to see the best clubhouse manager in the league operate on a daily basis. It is nice to see him recognized by the remainder of the league as well. We appreciate Vic's dedication and commitment to the Ports during his 11 years with the Ports. We also are appreciative of his family supporting Vic and his efforts with the Ports."
