Veteran Lutes Joins Havoc

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today that veteran forward Brett Lutes has signed with the team. He becomes the second veteran to sign with the team joining defenseman Nick Schneider.

Lutes (6-1, 185) has played in 626 career games in the ECHL, CHL, IHL, Germany and the SPHL. He has scored 209 goals, recorded 341 and has 1086 penalty minutes. The Riverview, New Brunswick native spent the last two seasons with the Pensacola Ice Flyers where he scored 35 goals and recorded 53 assists in 98 games.

"I am very happy Brett decided to sign with us for the upcoming season," Detulleo said. "He'll bring a lot of experience and leadership to our organization on and off the ice. He'll be a great example for our younger players on how to be a successful pro. He competes hard in all three zones, is a consistent point producer and plays the game with an edge. I look forward to having Brett put on a Havoc jersey!"

He played one season of college hockey at St. Thomas University during the 2003-04 season. He scored eight goals and recorded 13 assists in 28 games. He played in 210 career junior games for the Montreal Rocket of the QMJHL. He scored 100 goals and recorded 131 assists in 203 games.

"I have heard great things about Huntsville as a city and as an organization." Lutes said. "I can't wait to get the season going and start winning some hockey games."

The Havoc open the season on the road on October 23rd at Columbus. The home opener on Pharmacy First Ice will be November 10th against Knoxville.
