Green Bay Blizzard News Release
GREEN BAY, WI: The Green Bay Blizzard has announced that wide receiver Scott Burnoski has retired from indoor football. The UW-La Crosse graduate spent six years in professional football including five seasons with the Blizzard. Burnoski led the Blizzard in receiving yards three of his five years (2007, 2008, 2010) and was a playmaker near the end zone with 61 touchdowns in 44 regular season games.
Burnoski enjoyed his time with the Blizzard, "It was a pleasure playing in Green Bay. The Blizzard is a great organization and the coaches and staff are first class. I have to give a shout out to all of my teammates along the way. I still talk to a lot of them and it was fun meeting guys from around the country. I'm blessed to have played professional football this long after college. The football chapter in my life is closing, but I'm excited to see what the next chapter will be."
Burnoski began his career with the Blizzard in 2007. He appeared in 11 games and had 58 receptions for a team leading 775 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2008, Burnoski led the team to the Midwest Division Championship with 83 catches for 1,103 yards and 24 touchdowns. He spent the 2009 season with the Milwaukee Iron.
Burnoski returned to Green Bay in 2010 when the team made the move to the Indoor Football League. He led the Blizzard with 30 receptions for 374 yards and 11 touchdowns. He missed the majority of 2011 after suffering an ankle injury in the first game of the season. During his final season in 2012, Burnoski had 27 receptions for 347 yards and nine touchdowns.
In addition to indoor football, Burnoski has had a number of tryouts with NFL teams including the Green Bay Packers in 2007.
Burnoski played college football in Wisconsin at UW-La Crosse. He helped lead the Eagles to three consecutive WIAC Conference Championships. Burnoski was named the WIAC Player of the Year along with All-American honors in his senior year. He also holds many receiving records at UW-L.
