Versatile Defender Atkinson Signs with Rattlers

August 25, 2020 - Indoor Football League (IFL) - Arizona Rattlers News Release


PHOENIX - The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers announced today that they have signed linebacker Montavious Atkinson for the 2021 Indoor Football League season.

LB Montavious Atkinson (6'2, 225, Auburn) will enter his first year in the IFL and with the Rattlers. Prior to joining the team, Atkinson attended Auburn where he played in 49 games for the Tigers. In that time he amassed 117 tackles, seven for a loss, and 1.5 sacks. After playing 10 games at free safety for Auburn during his freshman year in 2015, Atkinson transitioned to linebacker for the remainder of his college career.

The Fairburn, Georgia native attended Langston Hughes High School where he was a three-sport letterman. He was a four-year starter at safety and totaled 531 career stops, and 7 interceptions earning himself first-team all-region honors as a junior and senior, was GSWA all-state, and was AJC all-area. Atkinson also played basketball, was on the track team.
