Vazela, Healey Second Team All MASL, Donatelli, Obasi Honorable Mention

Baltimore, MD - The Major Arena Soccer League today announced its All-League First, Second, and Third Teams for the recently completed 2015-16 regular season.

Each team, as well as members of the league front office, was given a ballot and the players who received the most points at each position were placed on All-League Teams. Players receive 3 points for a 1st team vote, 2 points for a 2nd team vote, and 1 point for a 3rd team vote.

Blast goalkeeper, William Vanzela, and defender Pat Healey were named to the Second Team.

Vanzela, who is a finalist for MASL Goalkeeper of the Year finished the season leading the MASL in both GAA (2.85) and save percentage (.791). Vanzela also started all 19 games for the Blast this season. Team captain, Pat Healey, is a finalist for MASL Defender of the Year. Healey is tied for the league lead in blocks this season with 43 and anchored the best defense in the MASL. He ranks fourth on the Blast in points with 23 and is tied for the team lead in assists with 17 which is 11 th best in the MASL. Healey has also made a huge impact in the playoffs this season with 3 goals and 3 assists in the opening round against the Syracuse Silver Knights.

Tony Donatelli and Onua Obasi were named as an honorable mention. Donatelli is the Blast leading points scorer with 34 coming off of 17 goals and 17 assists. Donatelli's 34 points ranks him 19th in the league. Onua Obasi recorded 9 goals and 3 assists this season and helped lead the defense which allowed the fewest goals in the MASL.

The winners for Most Valuable Player, Goalkeeper of the Year, Defender of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Rookie of the Year will be announced on March 17.

D Eric Guzman Las Vegas Legends Guzman scored 17 goals and 23 assists with 14 blocked shots

D Damian Garcia Soles de Sonora Garcia scored 22 goals and 13 assists with 10 blocked shots

M Vahid Assadpour Missouri Comets Assadpour scored 23 goals and 27 assists and led the Comets with 50 points

F Kraig Chiles San Diego Sockers Chiles was second with 55 points on 28 goals and 27 assists

F Franck Tayou Soles de Sonora Tayou finished the season at the top of the league standings with 62 points on 47 goals and 15 assists.

F Mauricio Salles Ontario Fury Salles scored 30 goals and 16 assists for a total of 46 points finishing fourth

F Leo Gibson Missouri Comets Last year's MVP totaled 44 points on 21 goals and 23 assists.

M Max Ferdinand Milwaukee Wave Ferdinand was second for the Wave with 38 points on 19 goals and 19 assists.

M Moises Gonzalez Brownsville Barracudas Recorded 42 points on 34 goals and eight assists for the Barracudas

F Efrain "Wilo" Martinez Chicago Mustangs Wilo finished fifth with 21 goals and 25 assists for 46 points

The Blast will be facing off against the Missouri Comets in the Eastern Conference Finals. Game one will be played Thursday, March 24th at 8:05p.m. EST from the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Missouri. Game two and the potential mini game will be played Tuesday, March 29th at 7:05p.m. EST from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.
