Vancouver MLS 2011 - Are You In?

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Major League Soccer kicks off an exciting contest this week that will see the winner become one of the first Vancouver MLS 2011 season ticket holders. The winner will be presented with a pair of season tickets for Vancouver's inaugural season during the official Vancouver MLS logo and jersey unveiling next spring.

"Since we announced Vancouver as the 17th MLS franchise last March, interest has continued to grow," said Vancouver Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi. "I think people are looking at Toronto and Seattle and really starting to understand that the atmosphere in the new soccer-specific BC Place will be like nothing Vancouver has ever seen before."

To enter the contest and join the Vancouver MLS 2011 Waitlist, simply text 'MLS' and your email address to 66004. All current Whitecaps season ticket holders and Vancouver MLS 2011 Waitlist members have already been automatically entered in the contest.

To help create awareness of the contest, 200,000 coasters will be in circulation in 33 Vancouver pubs - primarily downtown, with Commercial Drive and Westside Vancouver also targeted. In addition, posters will be displayed at each location.

"We've targeted soccer-style pubs and other sports bars in the Vancouver area during the busy holiday season, with something that doesn't make a holiday gift suggestion - a breath of fresh air, we hope," said Whitecaps director of marketing and communications Kim Jackman. "The waitlist gives fans a chance to make sure they don't miss out when the public on-sale opens, and the contest is an extra incentive to act now."

The first 5,000 deposits for Vancouver MLS 2011 season tickets sold out in less than 48 hours. Current Whitecaps season tickets holders are in the process of securing their seats for 2011. The remaining seats will be available to Vancouver MLS 2011 Waitlist members in an exclusive purchase window this coming spring.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2010 season tickets are now on sale. Season tickets include all men's and women's team regular season and playoff home matches at Swangard Stadium, Nutrilite Canadian Championship home matches against Toronto FC and Montreal Impact, as well as priority listing for Vancouver MLS 2011 in BC Place.
