Vancouver Giants News Release

VANCOUVER BC - The Vancouver Giants hosted their annual 'Da$h for Ca$h' this past weekend at the Pacific Coliseum. $15000 in frozen loonies were spread over the Coliseum ice surface for lucky fans and media members to collect. Local media personalities were asked to participate and raise money for their selected charities, with the Vancouver Giants matching their efforts by doubling up what the media collected.

In total, the media members were able to snatch 2167 loonies off the ice in 60 seconds. With the Vancouver Giants doubling that total, $4334 has been raised for local charities! Scott Rintoul of the TEAM 1040 was our media champion. Rintoul managed to pick up an astonishing $645 in just 60 seconds! With the Giants doubling his total, Rintoul was able to raise $1290 for the BC Cancer Agency in just 60 seconds! "I am astonished by the total I was able to collect," remarked Rintoul. "I am very happy to be able to take part in the Dash for Cash and have this money go towards a cause that is very personal to me."

Dale Saip, Giants VP of Business Development, is also very excited about the money raised. "Anytime that the Vancouver Giants can give back to our community is special. Without our great sponsors to this event; GLOBAL TV, CHARTER BUS LINES AND AM 650, this event would never achieve the level of success that it has. We are thrilled that the media was able to take part in this special event and take home some cash for their charities."

The Vancouver Giants would also like to recognize the media personalities who took part in this event.
