Valour FC News Release

WINNIPEG, MB. - Valour FC today selected two players in the 2021 CPL-U SPORTS Draft. By drafting these players, the club will now have the option to bring them into preseason camp and explore the possibilities of developmental contracts.

With their first pick, third overall, Valour FC Head Coach & GM Rob Gale selected Yuba-Rayane Yesli (goalkeeper) out of the University of Montreal.

Yesli, 21, is a 6'7" goalkeeper playing in his first season with the University of Montreal. The goalkeeper spent time with Vibonese Calcio (Serie D), helping them earn promotion to Serie C during his tenure with the club.

"We're very pleased to get Rayane with our first pick." said Valour FC Head Coach & GM Rob Gale. "Rayane has a lot of good attributes, and we're excited for him to compete for a spot alongside our other goalkeepers."

With their second pick, fourteenth overall, Valour FC selected Tony Mikhael (defender) out of Carleton University.

Mikhael, 20, joined the Carleton Ravens in 2018 following a successful youth career, including a 2017 Canada Summer Games gold medal and Ontario Cup championship.

"We were very impressed with Tony after interviewing him prior to the draft." said Valour FC & GM Rob Gale. "Alongside Andrew Jean-Baptiste and Amir Soto, we'll have a great environment for Tony to come in, compete and learn from their experience. A Lebanese National Team call up and Under-21 Canadian, it was an absolute no-brainer to draft him."
