
ValleyCats Set to Kick off 15th Anniversary Season

TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats open the 2016 season this week, highlighted by the opening homestand June 17-18.
Wednesday, June 15 - The Tri-City ValleyCats will host their 3rd annual Education Day game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Wednesday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. The ValleyCats, a Class-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, will host the Albany Dutchmen of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League in an exhibition match-up geared towards local schools. Several local organizations have helped support these field trips for local schools over the past few years, including Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Noble Gas Solutions, Transfinder and St. Peter's Health Partners' Sexual Assault & Crime Victims Assistance Program.
Friday, June 17 - The ValleyCats open the regular season, hosting the Connecticut Tigers in a two-game home stand. First pitch for both nights is set for 7:00 p.m. Friday night's game, sponsored by Rensselaer County Department of Health, will feature two giveaways: 2016 schedule magnets and the first part of the All-Time Team card set, presented by National Grid, as well as post-game fireworks presented by Market 32.
Saturday, June 18 - Saturday features three events. The Tri-City ValleyCats and Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club have partnered for the 11th Annual Father's Day Home Run 5k road race that begins and ends at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Each registered participant will receive four free tickets to a 2016 ValleyCats regular season home game, excluding July 4. This is followed by "Hops and Hits" in the evening, a three-hour all-you-can-eat buffet dinner with craft beer tasting. The 7:00 p.m. game against the Tigers is 60's night - Summer of Love, and features post-game fireworks presented by Market 32.
Sunday, June 19 - The ValleyCats are hosting a Father's Day Brunch from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The event will include an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, catch on the field at "The Joe," a personalized photo magnet and a premium box ticket voucher.
