West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley today announced that the team has re-signed defenseman Nick Tuzzolino for the 2011-2012 season.

Tuzzolino, who was acquired in a trade from Wheeling on October 26, 2010, had seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points in 45 games with Utah before being called-up to the AHL's Portland Pirates where he played 20 games and had two points (one goal, one assist) and 28 penalty minutes. He totaled two goals and three assists for five points in eight playoff games with Utah after rejoining the team from Portland right as the first round started.

During the regular season, the six-foot-five 25-year-old was second on the team with 16 power-play points. At the time of his call-up, Utah's power-play ranked fourth in the ECHL and tallied 43 power-play goals in 45 games with Tuzzolino in the lineup.

"Nick has established himself as one of the top defensemen in the ECHL," said Colley. "His leadership sets the standard in our locker room with his discipline, working mentality and will to win."
