West Valley City, Utah - Four gentlemen with Utah ties will be representing the Anaheim Ducks when they open up the Stanley Cup Finals Monday hosting Ottawa at the Honda Center. Ducks defensemen Scott Niedermayer and Ric Jackman are former Utah Grizzlies players. Anaheim Head Coach Randy Carlyle coached Grizzlies Head Coach Jason Christie when he played in the AHL. Assistant Coach Dave Farrish was the Head Coach of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in 1993-1994.

Niedermayer is going for his fourth Stanley Cup Championship after winning three with the New Jersey Devils in 2003, 2000 and 1995. The 33-year-old has come up big for the Ducks so far in the playoffs with two game-winning goals and a game-tying goal with less than a minute remaining in regulation. Overall, the member of the Grizzlies during the 1995-1996 season has three goals and six assists in 16 games during the current playoffs.

Jackman, who made his NHL playoff debut May 17 versus Detroit, scored a first period goal in the game on his first shot as Anaheim went on for the 5-3 win, tying the best-of-seven series at two. The 2000-2001 member of the Grizzlies was acquired by the Ducks in January from Florida. It took his sixth NHL team before he had an opportunity to make his playoff debut.

Carlyle, in his second season as an NHL Head Coach, was Jason Christie*s Head Coach when he played for the IHL*s Manitoba Moose from 1996-1998.

Farrish coached the Salt Lake Golden Eagles during the 1993-1994 season. The Golden Eagles were affiliated with the New York Islanders that year.

The Grizzlies, who on Tuesday announced an affiliation agreement with the New York Islanders organization, open their 2007-2008 season Friday, October 19 visiting the Phoenix RoadRunners at US Airways Center. The E-Center home opener for the Grizzlies is Friday, October 26 when they host the Idaho Steelheads. Season and group tickets for the upcoming season are on sale now by calling (801) 988-PUCK.
