Tulsa, Okla., December 30, 2008 - Boston Celtics assignee Bill Walker scored a game-high 27 points, and the Utah Flash capitalized on a 67.6 percent (25-of-37) first half shooting percentage, to come away with a 98-82 victory over the host Tulsa 66ers Tuesday night.
Walker, who scored 22 of his 27 points in the first half, connected on a jumper to cap a Flash 11-0 run to end the first period with the Flash leading 31-16. The Flash extended their lead to 28 61-33 after a Walker layup with 1:01 remaining in the half.
"I thought we would come out with more intensity and more energy," 66ers Head Coach Paul Woolpert said. "We need to take some professional pride and learn from this game."
Tulsa played tougher in the second half, outscoring the Flash 46-37 and outrebounding Utah 47-34 for the game.
"Our energy, both physical and mental was terrific," Flash Head Coach Brad Jones said. "It really helped us feel comfortable on the floor and make shots in the first half."
Tulsa was led for the second-straight game by Ryan Humphrey with 18 points and eight rebounds. Keith Clark came off the bench to score 14 points, and Moses Ehambe also came off the bench to put in 12 points. Ronald Dupree added 10 points, while Chris Richard pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
