Fresno Falcons News Release

West Valley City, Utah - Utah's Keith Johnson scored 3:38 into overtime on Saturday, leading the Utah Grizzlies to a 1-0 win over the Fresno Falcons in game five of their National Conference Quarterfinals series. Utah leads the series 3 games to 2 heading into game six in Fresno on Monday.

Through three periods of hockey, Fresno had a 31-28 edge in shots, with goaltenders Jake Moreland and Nathan Lawson turning aside each shot. There were only three power plays combined through regulation, with the Grizzlies going scoreless on two opportunities, and the Falcons coming up empty on their one man-advantage chance.

Fresno had a great chance to win the game early in overtime with a 3-on-1 rush into the Utah end. Oren Eizenman fed Mike Ramsay on the near post, but Lawson came up with a big glove save to keep the game scoreless.

Utah tallied the game winner 3:38 into the extra session. Tyler Haskins won a face-off in the Fresno zone to Ryan Kinasewich, whose shot was stopped by Moreland, but Johnson picked up the rebound at the top of the crease and slid a shot home to give Utah the 1-0 win.

The series returns to Save Mart Center for game six on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Catch all of the action on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 6:45. Tickets for this game are on sale at the Save Mart Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster by calling (559) 485-TIXS, or by logging onto www.ticketmaster.com.
