
USL League One Announces 2021 Season Openers

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - USL League One has announced its lineup of home openers to begin the 2021 season. Revolution II will open the 2021 USL League One campaign on Saturday, April 10 against Fort Lauderdale CF at Inter Miami CF Stadium. Revolution II will then open its 2021 home slate against Richmond Kickers at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, April 17. Kickoff times for both matches are to be determined.
The 2021 USL League One regular season will feature a 28-game slate running through October and culminating in a six-team playoff to take place in November. The remainder of the team's League One schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. All 168 games of the USL League One season are broadcast live on ESPN+. Information regarding fans' ability to attend Revolution II home games will be shared at a later date.

Revolution II is set to embark on its second season in USL League One after posting a 5-8-3 mark in the team's inaugural campaign. During the year, 19 different players made their professional debuts, including 12 current and former members of the Revolution Academy. Last year, Revs II opened the season on July 25, 2020 with a 0-0 draw against Union Omaha. New England posted a 2-4-2 record at Gillette Stadium last season in USL League One.
This year's season opener will mark Revolution II's first trip to Fort Lauderdale and the first time the club has opened the season on the road. The two first-year clubs met just once last season in Foxborough, with New England earning a 4-1 win. New England finished the 2020 season with a 3-4-1 away record.
New England will welcome Richmond Kickers back to Foxborough on April 17 for its home opener. Richmond, who finished fourth in USL League One last season, split the season series against New England with each side winning on the road. Richmond defeated New England, 2-1, at Gillette Stadium in August, while Revolution II claimed a 4-0 victory at City Stadium last October.
