KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League along with the 11 other member teams will participate in the league's annual draft beginning Thursday at 9 a.m.

The Storm, who finished the 2005-06 season with a 28-23-9 record and a trip to the Clark Cup playoffs, will make 15 overall selections on Thursday before the draft concludes. Fans of the USHL can keep up with the draft throughout the day by visiting the USHL's website at www.ushl.com.

Entering the draft Tri-City has 10 players from the 2005-06 team named on the team's protected list. Storm coach and general manager Bliss Littler also has five players on his team's futures list. Therefore, a total of 15 players make up the Storm's protected list heading into Thursday's draft. A complete protected list is shown below.

In the USHL draft each team will fill their respective protected list to 23 players. The Storm will draft eight players to get to 23 before waiting for the other USHL teams to fill their lists to 23. Once all rosters are at 23 players, each team will be given seven additional picks to fill their rosters to 30.
