USHL Completes 2011 Futures Draft

Chicago, IL - The 2011 version of the USHL Futures Draft was completed on Tuesday as 90 players in the 1995 birth year age group were selected by USHL Member Clubs.

The Waterloo Black Hawks opened the Futures Draft at 10:00 AM by selecting high-scoring forward Taylor Cammarata who put up 126 points (64g, 62a) in 48 games this season for the Shattuck-St. Mary's U-16 team. The Fargo Force acquired the second pick via trade with the Chicago Steel and with that selection, the Force chose forward Gabe Guertler who was the first of five players from the Team Illinois hockey program drafted on Tuesday. The Dubuque Fighting Saints picked the first defenseman of the Futures Draft when they chose Michael Downing from Detroit Central Catholic High School with the third pick of the first round.

Among the 90 players selected on Tuesday were 68 forwards, 28 defensemen, and four goaltenders.
