COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Including seven athletes who have previously claimed gold while playing for USA Basketball at the senior level, 12 are expected to attend the 2022 USA Women's National Team training camp from March 29-April 2 in Minneapolis. The training camp will culminate with an April 2 practice that will be free and open to the public from 10-11:30 a.m. (CDT) at Tourney Town, located inside the Minneapolis Convention Center.

"I'm looking forward to our second camp ahead of the WNBA season," said Cheryl Reeve, 2021-24 USA National Team and Minnesota Lynx head coach. "We have a small group of athletes, some of whom we saw in February and others who will be joining us for the first time in 2022. With the FIBA World Cup just six months away, this camp will be important in our development as a team as we continue to evaluate players for the USA team in September. I also think the open practice at Tourney Town will be an exciting way to close our camp, providing our local fans and those fans coming in for the Final Four a glimpse of the team."

Closed practice sessions from March 29-April 1 will be held at The Courts at Mayo Clinic Square beginning at 10 a.m. each day, and the final 30 minutes will be open to credentialed media only. Accepting invitations to the training camp are FIBA World Cup and Olympic gold medalists Angel McCoughtry (Minnesota Lynx), Kelsey Plum (Las Vegas Aces), Breanna Stewart (Seattle Storm) and A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces); and Olympic gold medalists Ariel Atkins (Washington Mystics), Allisha Gray (Dallas Wings) and Chelsea Gray (Las Vegas Aces).

Also expected to attend the camp are Dearica Hamby (Las Vegas Aces), Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever), Aerial Powers (Minnesota Lynx), Azurá Stevens (Chicago Sky) and Courtney Williams (Connecticut Sun).As 2021-24 USA National Team head coach, Cheryl Reeve (Minnesota Lynx) will lead the coaching staff. Court coaches for the camp are Adia Barnes (Arizona), Kara Lawson (Duke), Joni Taylor (Texas A&M) and Jeff Walz (Louisville). Should Walz advance his team to the NCAA Final Four, he will not participate in the minicamp.

The training camp will be used as evaluation for the 2022-24 USA Women's National Team athlete pool, which will be announced at a later date. The 2022 USA World Cup Team and 2024 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team, should the U.S. qualify for the 2024 Olympics, as well as additional training camps and competitions, are expected to be comprised of members of the 2022-24 USA National Team player pool.

The athletes were selected by the USA Basketball Women's National Team Committee, which is chaired by Connecticut Sun president and 2018-21 USA National Team assistant coach Jennifer Rizzotti and includes Olympic and World Cup gold medalists Seimone Augustus and DeLisha Milton-Jones, 2017-21 USA National Team head coach Dawn Staley and WNBA head of league operations Bethany Donaphin.
