KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League learned today that USA Today newspaper hockey columnist Kevin Allen will be in Kearney on Friday to watch the Storm host the Waterloo Black Hawks. Friday's game against Waterloo will begin at 7:05 p.m.
Allen, who has been the USA Today's hockey writer since 1986, is currently working on an article that features junior hockey and a majority of that will feature the USHL. Allen's additional stops will be in Lincoln on Jan. 6 and Omaha on Jan. 7.
The Storm is hosting Waterloo in a weekend doubleheader. Both teams will take the ice on Friday and Saturday nights at the FirsTier Event Center. Tickets are available by calling (308) 338-8011.
