Manchester Monarchs News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - USA Hockey today announced that 39 players, representing 21 different NHL teams, have been invited to the 2005 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Orientation Camp to be held September 5-8 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Los Angeles Kings, parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, will be represented at the camp by left wing Dustin Brown and defensemen Aaron Miller and Tim Gleason.

"The orientation camp will be a terrific opportunity for our staff to come together with the candidates for our Olympic Team to assess the potential make-up of our squad," said Don Waddell, General Manager of the 2006 Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team in making the announcement. "It will not be a tryout camp as the evaluation process will continue throughout the first part of the NHL season. However, it will be an important first step in the total process."

The camp is designed to assist in the preparation of the 2006 United States Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team that will compete at the XX Olympic Winter Games to be held February 10-26 in Torino, Italy, and will consist of both on- and off-ice components.

Miller, 34, appeared in 35 games with the Kings during the 2003-04 season, collecting three points (1-2=3) and 32 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound native of Buffalo, New York, has appeared in 171 games with the Kings over four seasons (2000-04), registering 31 points (7-24=31) and 124 penalty minutes. Miller did not play hockey during the 2004-05 season due to the NHL lockout.

Brown, 20, played in 79 games with the Monarchs during the 2004-05 season, recording 74 points (29-45=74) and 96 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound native of Ithaca, New York, led the Monarchs during the 2005 Calder Cup playoffs with five goals and seven points (5-2=7). Selected in the first round (13th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Brown appeared in 31 games with the Kings during the 2003-04 season. He registered five points (1-4=5) and 16 penalty minutes with the Kings.

Gleason, 22, registered 24 points (10-14=24) and 112 penalty minutes in 67 games with the Monarchs during the 2004-05 season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Clawson, Michigan, appeared in 47 games with the Kings during the 2003-04 season. Gleason collected seven points (0-7=7) and 21 penalty minutes with Los Angeles.
