D.C. United News Release
Washington, D.C. (February 5, 2010) - D.C. United announced today that midfielder Danny Szetela has undergone a successful partial menisectomy. Dr. Christopher Annunziata performed the procedure last night at Commonwealth Orthopaedics. Szetela will begin rehabilitating his right knee next week and is expected to miss the next six weeks of United's preseason training.
"We're pleased with the results of Danny's surgery and are looking forward to his return to the field," said United General Manager Dave Kasper.
Szetela was acquired as an allocation on July 15, 2009. The midfielder made four appearances in League play last season, with his sole start coming against the Kansas City Wizards during the final game of the year. He also played in five CONCACAF Champions League matches during the campaign, starting three times.
