United's Brian Carroll called into U.S. Men's National Team Training Camp

Washington, D.C. (March 15, 2006) - U.S. Men's National Team Head Coach Bob Bradley has named his training camp roster in preparation for the team's March 25 and March 28 friendlies versus Ecuador and Guatemala, respectively. D.C. United midfielder Brian Carroll has been called in alongside 10 other domestic players and 13 who ply their trade abroad. He will be available for selection in United's return leg against CD Guadalajara on April 3 in the semifinal round of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup.

The U.S. Men will assemble in Bradenton, Fla. on March 18 and train until March 24. On March 25 the team will make its way to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa to face Ecuador in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN2 and Galavision (kickoff 12 p.m. EST). Following, the team will travel to Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Tex. For a March 28 date with Guatemala, which will also be broadcast on ESPN2 and Galavision (kickoff 9 p.m. EST).

A mainstay in the midfield for United, Carroll has already made on appearance for the National Team this year, when he came on as a substitute against Mexico on February 7 - a 2-0 U.S. win. The 25-year old earned two caps in 2006 - February 10 versus Japan and February 19 versus Guatemala. He has five total caps with the U.S. Men's National Team. As a member of D.C. United, Carroll was first on the team in minutes played (2,779) in 2006. On September 23 of last year, due to yellow card accumulation, the 25-year old's streak of 90 consecutive games played ended - it was the second longest streak in MLS history (Kevin Hartman - 93). The Springfield, Va. native also tied his career high with three assists last season.
