
Union II earns first victory of the season in debut for Interim Head Coach Marlon LeBlanc

CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union II hosted New York Red Bulls II Wednesday night coming away with a 3-2 victory, the first of the season. Union II wasted no time taking control by opening the scoring just 18 seconds into the match after Patrick Bohui capitalized on a mistake by the Red Bull II's keeper. A goal from Jack McGlynn in extra time would send the two sides into halftime tied at 2-2. The match-winner for Philadelphia would come in the 71st minute after Jack Jasinski was able to get in behind the New York defense and find the back of the net. Union II is back at home, Sunday, August 9 hosting Hartford Athletic at Subaru Park (7:30 p.m. ET /ESPN+).

TEAM NOTES:
Youth is a common theme for Union II and it was on full display in tonight's match against New York. The average age of the starting Xl against New York was just 17.4-years old, the youngest in club history. After Union II made its fifth substitution the overall age of the 16 players to take the field was 17.3.
Forward Patrick Bohui scored the opening goal of the match and did so in historic fashion. With the ball crossing the goal line 18 seconds into the match it goes down as the fastest goal scored in Union II history and tied as the ninth quickest goal scored in USL Championship history. This also marks Bohui's first career goal for Union II.
Forward Axel Picazo registered the assist on the second goal of tonight's match, the first of his career. In his 58 minutes of action he also put a shot on target, made 17 passes and won two tackles. Picazo is also one of only three players to have started every match this season for Union II.
Jack McGlynn has had a hot start to his professional career and continued that form tonight. The 17-year-old midfielder played the full 90 minutes against New York scoring a goal and registering an assist, both career firsts.
Defender Anthony Sorenson and midfielder Paxten Aaronson made their first-ever USL Championship starts tonight, while Forward Caden Stafford made his USL Championship debut after coming on as a substitute in the 82nd minute.
16-year-old Jack Jasinski's 71st minute match-winner was the first goal of his career. He becomes the youngest player to score for the club at 16 years 8 months and 1 day, beating teammate Patrick Bohui's record set early in the in the first half of 16 years 8 months and 2 days. He is the 12th youngest player to ever score in the USL Championship.
