Union head to Orlando for first preseason camp

Chester, Pa. (January 30, 2011) -Philadelphia Union head to Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, February 1, for their first preseason training camp of the 2011 season, presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA. The team will have daily double sessions, mornings and afternoons, and is scheduled to play its first exhibition match against the U-17 U.S. Men's National Team on Sunday, February 6, at Sylvan Lake Park. Kickoff is set for 11:00 a.m. EST.

The Union, who have been training at YSC Sports the past week, have also made some adjustments to their roster, as goalkeeper Brad Knighton was waived on Tuesday, January 25. Earlier this month, Philadelphia added two goalkeepers, 2011 MLS SuperDraft selection Zac MacMath, and Colombian International Faryd Mondragón.

On Wednesday, January 26, Philadelphia Union postponed the Meet the Players Event scheduled to take place that evening due to severe weather conditions. The fans and media members will have the opportunity to meet all players and coaching staff on Tuesday, March 22.
