UIF and IFL Reveal their New League Name Today

Omaha, NE-What started out as one game for the National Indoor Football Championship has now turned into a 14 regular game schedule starting in 2009. The United Indoor Football Association (UIF) and the Intense Football League (IFL) announced a merger on Wednesday, July 23rd that will bring together 17 teams and form the strongest indoor football leagues in the country. Members from both leagues have worked hard together to make the merger happen knowing that the final result would create an even more credible and stable league now and for the future.

The Indoor Football League (IFL) was revealed today at a press conference as the official name of the two merged leagues. Along with the new name being announced, the league also revealed the new logo. The new Executive Committee will begin a national search immediately to fill the positions within the IFL office. UIF Executive Director Paul Aaron and IFL Commissioner Dan Blum have been encouraged to apply for this position.

Specific details such as rule modifications, conference and division alignments, and additional expansion for 2009 along with other topics will be discussed at league meetings hosted by the Omaha Beef. The league meetings also allows for all front office personnel and owners to meet face to face and get to know each other as they all work together to make the 2009 season a success.

Dakota Crow, President/Managing Partner of the Omaha Beef, was proud to part of the process, along with other UIF and IFL officials, which helped to bring these two leagues together.

"This merger has been 2 years in the making," Crow said. "Both leagues have been around for 4 years and have had great success. This merger allows all of us to put our league and team name out there in the national market and be known as the premier indoor league. I'm very excited that the BEEF are part of this historic move. We are looking forward to not only hosting the league meetings and showing off the great city that we call home, but also are excited about the new teams experiencing the environment like none other than that of "The Slaughterhouse."

The UIF and the IFL will conclude their season in Sioux Falls this Saturday, August 2nd when the UIF Champion Sioux Falls Storm hosts the IFL Champion Louisiana Swashbucklers for the National Indoor Football Championship trophy.

The BEEF are celebrating their 10th year of Professional Indoor Football in Omaha, NE. Home games are played March through June.
