
UHL announces All-Rookie Team

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) released Monday the 2004-05 UHL ALL-Rookie Team as selected by the league head coaches, general managers, and members of the media.
A player qualifies as a rookie if he has participated in 40 or fewer regular season games in any professional league prior to the start of the 2004-05 UHL season. A goaltender qualifies as a rookie if he has participated in 2,400 or fewer minutes in any professional league prior to the start of the 2004-05 UHL season.
2004-05 UHL ALL-ROOKIE TEAM
Goaltender: Robert Gherson, Quad City Mallards
Defenseman: Steve Pelletier, Rockford IceHogs
Defenseman: Mike Dombkiewicz, Missouri River Otters
Forward: Mike Kompon, Quad City Mallards
Forward: Mike Kinnie, Flint Generals
Forward: Jonathan Goodwin, Fort Wayne Komets
Robert Gherson (G), Quad City Mallards â The 21-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario finished the regular season with a 24-12-7 record. His 2.25 goals against average was second among all UHL goaltenders and his .925 save percentage ranked third among all goaltenders in the league. Gherson was twice named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week.
Steve Pelletier (D), Rockford IceHogs â The 21- year-old St. Jerome, Quebec native finished third among UHL rookies with a plus-22 rating. Pelletier played in all 80 Rockford regular season games and recorded 18 points (1g, 17a) with his one goal being a game-winner. He was also named an All-Star for the 2005 UHL All-Star Classic in January 2005.
Mike Dombkiewicz (D), Missouri River Otters â The 26-year-old Buffalo, New York native tallied 36 points (13g, 23a) which ranked him 11th among all UHL defensemen and tied for 12th among all UHL rookies. He led all league defensemen with nine power play goals and was tied for second among defenseman with 13 goals.
Mike Kompon (F), Quad City Mallards â The 23-year-old native of Thunder Bay, Ontario led all UHL rookies in scoring with 90 points (39g, 51a) and ranked 10th among all UHL scorers. Kompon was tied for third in the league with 17 power play goals. He played in 77 regular season games and earned a plus-25 rating. He was named an All-Star for the 2005 UHL All-Star Classic.
Mike Kinnie (F), Flint Generals â The 22-year-old native of Shelby Township, Michigan was second among all UHL rookies in scoring with 81 points (37g, 44a). He ranked 14th among all league scorers. He was named an All-Star for the 2005 UHL All-Star Classic. Kinnie received a late-season call up to the Rochester Americans (AHL) where he played in six games.
Jonathan Goodwin (F), Fort Wayne Komets â The 22-year-old Weymouth, Massachusetts native tallied 59 points (35g, 24a) and had a plus-18 rating in 70 regular season games. His 59 points ranked him 3rd among UHL rookies and his 235 shots on goal led all rookies. Goodwin tied for the league lead with eight game-winning goals this season. He was named an All-Star for the 2005 UHL All-Star Classic.
