Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

One of the great things about watching a baseball game is you never know when you're going to see something you've never seen before. Tri-City Dust Devil fans, however, saw something Thursday night that they wish they had never seen and would rather never see again in an 8-3 Yakima Bears victory.

Trailing 2-1 going into the top of the fifth, the Dust Devils' pitching and catching completely fell apart. In summary: five walks, one hit by pitch, one error (on catcher Jordan Pacheco), six wild pitches, four passed balls, six runs, eleven Yakima batters, and no Yakima hits off of Tri-City pitchers Brad McAtee and David Parker. Despite some late-inning offense by the Dust Devils (31-32), the disastrous inning proved to be too much for Tri-City to overcome.

Sheng-An Kuo took the loss in his first start of the season for the Dust Devils after being demoted from Asheville. Ian Harrington (5-5) earned the win for Yakima, scattering eight hits and giving up two runs in six innings pitched.

Tri-City will play at Yakima (22-41) on Friday before returning home for a three game series beginning Saturday versus Spokane. Fireworks, presented by Kadlec Clinic, will follow the game. Season ticket holders will want to be sure to stick around for the entire game for a chance to win $150 thanks to Cline Computers' Show Me the Money promotion.

Tickets can be purchased at the Dust Devils box office, by phone at 544-8789, online at www.dustdevilsbaseball.com, and at all TicketsWest outlets. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are also available at the box office and over the phone.
